For me the jury is out regarding cloning sheep & I’ve got over the shock that aborted foetal cells have been used in moisturisers for years, but then I discovered women actually donate their eggs.
A friend joined a MLM company & told me about the “amazing skin care” she is selling which is based on stem cell technology. Not to put a dampener on her spirits I did some research into stem cell technology & found that it could actually be plant derived which I thought was acceptable, as I am a vegetarian.
Then I went back to the web link my friend had given me & read:
“…uses DNA repair and antioxidant ingredients to improve cell performance and longevity. Our patent-pending Stem Cell Innovation helps generate new, vital skin cells in the first place.
Dr. ………., a world-renowned dermatologist and cosmetic surgeon, began searching for a topical treatment to help patients recovering from burns and severe injuries. Knowing that stem cells drive cell growth and regeneration, he isolated the stem cell growth factors that serve as the “language” communicating cellular activity. Although other scientists were using plant-based growth factors, Dr. ………. derived his growth factors from the stem cells of healthy adults, theorizing that cell communication in the same “language” would be more effective.”
I’m not sure I like the sound of that; I think I’ll stick with coconut oil & ageing gracefully [or disgracefully as the mood takes me 🙂 ]
…but maybe you think differently?
